When Timothy Delaghetto asked you to photograph his wedding, you simply couldn’t say no, right? Well, there was a little problem for me, I have already booked a 14-hour Wedding on Saturday in Washington, DC and Tim & Chia’s wedding was going to be on the following Sunday in Los Angeles and our team was scheduled to start at noon. In case, you didn’t know, Tim is actually my cousin and although we didn’t see each other as much as I would have liked as we grew up on the opposite side of the world and living on the opposite coast, technology has connected us and luckily I got to see and hang out with his dad quite a bit.
Being so afraid that I would not be able to show up on time due to delayed/ canceled flights, we did all the things we could to ensure that the show could go on in case the worst would happen. We sent two of our team members to California a few days earlier and we also made sure that we got the most talented local photographer to join the team. Thankfully, the super talented Marissa agreed to help and it would be amazing to work with her once again! I finished working on Saturday’s night at almost midnight, came back home to transfer files to hard drives, made backup copies, packed my bag, took a shower and then I realized that it almost time to leave for my flight to LA! The plane was on time and I landed in LAX and headed to the gorgeous Bel-Air Bay Club — a dream wedding venue featuring stunning views overlooking both Will Rogers State Beach and Sunset Beach. I was warmly greeted by a bright smile of Holly from Anything But Gray Events who orchestrated the whole ordeal and made sure everything run perfectly that day. It was such a pleasure working with such a professional team with a lot of passions like Holly and her team!
The whole day just beautifully unfolded from the beginning till the end. It was truly like a dream — a really really splendid dream filled with beautiful moments, lucid blue sky, stunning ocean views, pretty white flowers, ravishing details, amazing crowds (my mom my wife and many families were there! And of course, Youtube/Instagram stars!), a lot of really mouth-watering/good-looking food and a lot of dancing (even Eritrean money dance!). Of course, being Timothy Delaghetto’s wedding, the night ended with even more food when the In-And-Out Burger truck pulled in delivering late night snacks to keep the party going. I will spare you with more details and let the photos tell the stories instead! Be sure to drop by Anything But Gray’s Blog for more details about this fabulous wedding though! Stay tuned here and on our social media for Part 2 : The Photo Shoot at Venice Beach!
It was our absolute pleasure to be there to capture one of the most precious moments for Tim and Chia. Congrats to the lovely couple and we are certain that the path ahead of you guys will be just as beautiful as (if not more than) your wedding day!
