Do you deliver every image you shoot?
No, we don’t deliver duplicates or subpar shots. We remove any images with missed focus, unflattering expressions, or those that don’t meet our quality standards. We often take extra shots to ensure perfection, especially in candid moments. Trust in our expertise; we spend hours reviewing to deliver only the best, eliminating any redundancies.
Do you offer RAW Files?
Our packages include full-resolution image downloads, but we usually don’t provide RAW files as we focus on delivering finished products. Occasionally, we might offer RAW images with our post-produced JPGs for an extra fee with certain restrictions.
Do you do destination weddings? What additional fees are associated with destination weddings?
We primarily serve the Washington, DC and East Coast but are also available for destination weddings. Our passports are ready! We kindly ask our clients to cover travel and accommodation costs for us.
Who will be the lead photographer?
We are a boutique studio and Nat Wongsaroj will be the lead photographer for our clients if available. We also offer coverage from our lead associate photographer (Kyle) who has been working with us for more than 7 years. Regardless, you will have a chance to (virtually) meet your photographers from the very beginning before signing an agreement with us and the same photographer will help guide you along the entire process. We only have two lead photographers at our company at the moment (Nat & Kyle) and the photographs you saw on the website and social media were taken by one of us.
Lead photographer also acts as a main point of contact who oversees everything creatively and works closely with our cinematography team.
Do you shoot digital or film?
We do both! For most part of the day, we shoot digital but on certain occasions, film can help bring out the certain looks that we love. We also process color/tone our images based on our favorite film.
Do you provide partial day coverage?
We do have minimum spending for prime weekend dates during the wedding season as listed here. However, we do make exceptions for last-minute events that are relatively closer to the dates.
Do you do headshots, corporate events, individual portraits, family portraits, newborn shoots, commercial photography, or other types of photography?
Yes, we do! We have experience in many fields of photography. If it’s something that we are not comfortable doing, we will likely refer you to experts we know.
Can I see a full gallery from start to finish?
Yes, when you reach out to us using the contact form. We will send you relevant galleries.
Can I see the packages that you offer?
We don’t really have packages. We offer custom proposals based on various factors such as logistics, deliverables, and coverage. We don’t provide standard packages as each wedding is unique to us.
I have downtime between events on my wedding day. Will I be charged for that downtime?
We factor the downtime in when we create a custom proposal for you. On the wedding day, we never really stop working as there are continuous tasks like backing up images, setting up at new venues, traveling, capturing venue shots, or compensating for unexpected delays. Often, this “downtime” is used for additional photo sessions or family portraits.
What happens if we go over the contracted amount of time?
We remain flexible during weddings. We won’t leave precisely when our contracted time ends; instead, we’ll check if you’d like to extend our services, billed as per contract rates rounded to the nearest half-hour. If we’re capturing crucial moments as our time concludes, we’ll continue shooting. You can choose whether to pay for images taken beyond our contracted period.
What makes South Asian wedding photography different from other wedding photography styles?
South Asian weddings are rich in tradition, culture, and vibrant colors. Our photography style focuses on capturing the intricate details, the myriad ceremonies, and the deep emotional moments specific to South Asian traditions, ensuring the essence of the wedding is encapsulated.
How familiar are you with South Asian wedding rituals?
Our team is well-versed in the various customs and rituals associated with South Asian weddings, from Mehndi to Sangeet, and Baraat to Vidai. Whether it’s Hindu, Sikh, or Nikkah ceremonies, we make it a priority to capture each ritual in its true essence and spirit.
Do you have experience with various South Asian communities (e.g., Punjabi, Gujarati, Telugu, Tamil)?
All of those and more! Yes, we’ve had the privilege of capturing weddings from a diverse range of South Asian communities. We always take the time to understand the specific customs and preferences of each community to ensure authenticity in our captures.
How much does it cost?
It depends on what do you want to include and we usually discuss this during the discovery call with our clients. You can see basic pricing information for photography here and our clients tend to spend on our videography about 60-85% of what they spend on photography.
Can we pick music?
Music is a deeply personal aspect that we believe should remain in our hands. Every wedding possesses its own distinct ambiance, style, and rhythm. Our aim is to discover the ideal song that accentuates these remarkable elements. Certainly, if you have a particular favorite, feel free to share it with us, and we’ll explore the possibilities of incorporating it into the celebration!
We will be sending a questionaire or hop on a pre-wedding call with you guys to discuss/learn more about your music preferences.
Who will be the lead videographers?
One of our expert in-house lead cinematographers.
But that’s not all. We’re dedicated to making films that evoke a profound emotional response, touching the very core of your beings. Your personal preferences and visions are paramount to us. Whether it’s crafting a whimsical “Mockumentary” of your wedding day or creating a film that embodies the sheer essence of “epic,” we’re here to turn your emotional landscape into a cinematic masterpiece.
When will we see the videos?
You can expect it to be in about 4-6 months. We would like to take time to ensure the highest quality of works that we deliver while we continue to build our portfolio. We try to get the short (1-minute) highlight (if included) out the earliest and we aim for 1-2 weeks for that.
The short cinematic highlight is aimed to be viewed on social media platform like Instagram and is meant to be displayed vertically on the phones (9:16 aspect ratio). The longer highlight and the documentary edits are meant to be viewed horizontally (16:9 aspect ratio).
Who edit the videos?
Everything is done in-house by our lead videographer who will also be shooting your wedding! Just like the response above, we take immense pride in our work and would never entrust your wedding footage to an external editing company. We handle the shooting, editing, and whole process ourselves, and we fully stand behind the final product!
Can we ask you to use certain popular or Bollywood songs?
What are actually covered in the document ceremony film?
The whole ceremony program (chronologically from multiple cameras) starting from the entrance until the end of the ceremony. We also try to include details montage showcasing the beauty of the ceremony details.
Normally we don’t put the Baraat sequence and anything that happens before the starting of the wedding ceremony in the documentary edits but if you guys would like to add this, please inquire us about this.
When we add on videography for pre-wedding events (Sangeet, Haldi and etc.), what are we actually getting?
Will we see this particular person (your favorite auntie/uncle and etc..) in the video?
We try our best to get to know who are the important people in your lives and we will ask about this during the wedding timeline call. Knowing who are the most important people will help us focus on capturing the key people that you would like to feature.
Will the beautiful ceremony and reception decor/details be featured in the film?
